Gazprom has completed the construction of the second leg of the pipeline Minsk - Vilnius - Kaunas - Kaliningrad, the company reported.

- construction of the second leg of the pipeline Minsk-Vilnius-Kaunas-Kaliningrad in the same corridor with the existing technology of the first leg of the pipeline capacity of 1.4 billion cubic meters. m, which was commissioned in 1985. The length of the second line is 139.2 km.
- construction of the Kaliningrad UGS in order to meet the daily and seasonal irregularity of consumption, as well as backup in case of gas occurrence of abnormally cold winters and emergencies. The first section of UGS will be commissioned in late 2009.
- increase capacity of the COP Krasnoznamenskaya to ensure a guaranteed supply of the planned volume of gas pipeline Minsk-Vilnius-Kaunas-Kaliningrad.
In addition, in the territory of the Republic of Lithuania in order to increase gas transit to the Kaliningrad RegionJSC Lieytuvos Dujos built loopings of GIS Sakiai to the border with Russia length of 18 km and a diameter of 700 mm, and is currently following projects:
