Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (ACU) appealed to the Kiev City State Administration (KCSA) to refrain until September 30 this year from the decision to abolish the quarterly and annual tickets, said the Acting Head of the Antimonopoly Committee Alexander Melnichenko.
At a briefing in Kiev on Friday, Melnichenko said he had sent an appeal to Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky.
In addition, according to Acting AMC chapter, he also sent a letter to the Minister of Economics Bohdan Danylyshyn with the requirement to request the State Inspectorate to monitor prices to examine the validity of intentions KSCA and that it be tested.
According Melnichenko, verification could take up to 30 September this year, so KCSA should refrain from any action until that time.
In the case of detecting violations and adopting economically unsound decisions, the Committee may impose penalties for utility companies Kyivpastrans and Kiev underground and charge them with fines of up to 10% of annual turnover.
As reported, KSCA intends this autumn to lift the travel documents, which give passengers the right to use public means of transport during the year and quarter. According to draft the appropriate order, with a one-time cost of travel and travel document for a month will not change. At the same time intended to introduce a restriction of the number of visits to one-fare - up to 70 per month in the metro.
The AMC felt that as a result consumers have to spend on 25 UAH more, because the cost of travel on public ground transportation will make 80 grn and 95 grn - on the subway, whereas today the cost of the combination of travel is 150 UAH.
