Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) at a meeting on Friday decided to recover from OOO Will-cable, OAO IVK and OAO Kievskie telecommunications network ( MWC , all of Kiev), fines of $ 1 million UAH , transmits the correspondent of Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the Acting Head of AMCU Alexander Melnichenko, the agency concluded that the company abused the monopoly position by offering customers unreasonable rates for access to the so-called universal service program means a broadcasting major nationwide television channels.

addition to fines, AMCU demanded that companies reduce tariffs. However Melnychenko not stated the border of tariff reductions, noting that this issue is within the competence of the operator.

Tariff for program services in the social package Ukraine in 2009 grew by 33.3% compared with the rate in effect in 2008. However, consumer prices in line with the index of inflation in Ukraine during the period from 1 January 2008 until 1 February 2009 in the field of communications grew by 25.8%, while in Kiev - just 6.8% , - stated in a press release distributed on AMCU meeting.

According to the document, antitrust agency also found that the Will-cable lays in the tariff is not related to service delivery costs.

Director-General of Will-cable Andrei Metelsky disagreed with the decision AMCU and said that the company will challenge it in court.

We believe that this decision is illegal, because the investigation did not in fact carried out - he said to journalists.

According to the director, Will-cable saw action Antimonopoly Committee as pressure on the company for the purpose of personal benefit. At the same time, he refused to specify the statement.
