Finregulyator Kazakhstan tightened requirements for equity banks

This measure is designed to strengthen the financial position of regional banks.

Under the new rules supplement for the presence of branches remain in force and at the same level.

As the head of the FSA Elena Bakhmutova journalists on Thursday in Astana, in connection with the entry into force of the new requirements of the three Kazakh banks are at risk and seek strategic investors for dokapitalizatsii.

Three banks - Danabank, Kazinkombank (Kazakh Innovation Commercial Bank), Metrokombank - announced the search for strategic investors. They are at risk because they need to find strategic investors for the implementation of these standards, - said Bakhmutova.

She said that these banks have provided documents showing that they have the potential strategic investors. But this does not mean that these strategic investors will meet the requirements of the regulator and that they eventually become investors, - she said.

However Bakhmutova reported that the other three banks have already taken the necessary measures to dokapitalizatsii and, most likely in the next reporting date - November 1 - achieved the required level of capital.

Another 3 bank converted to regional banks, that is, they will have only 2 billion tenge capital, and they are almost at that level, - noted Bakhmutova, without specifying the names of the banks.
