Greece did not ask anybody financial assistance and solve its problems by itself. According to ITAR-TASS reported that Prime Minister of Greece George Papandreou, in an interview with one of the Italian financial and economic newspapers.
“Our European partners must understand that it is - common problems in a period of major challenges for the world economy - Papandreou said in an interview from Davos, where he is today. - Today we talk about Greece, but tomorrow it could happen in any other country. ”
Prime Minister noted that Greece does not expect economic assistance and had not asked anyone to develop plans for its salvation. “The Greek Government has made it clear that we ourselves will solve their problems” - he said.
Senior members of the Greek government denied reports the London Financial Times that Greece agrees with China, so he bought a large part of the Greek public debt. Central Bank of China also denied such an agreement. France and Germany denied reports that these countries are secretly preparing grant stabilization loans in Greece.
Papandreou said in an interview that Greece has already begun to implement a series of radical reforms in order to reduce the public deficit to less than 3 percent in the next three years. “I am sure that there will be no problem in approving the Program of stability and development of the Greek Parliament,” - said the Premier. According to him, “The biggest problem is probably tax evasion”, the struggle which should increase revenue collection. “The government will focus its efforts on reducing the excessive public sector spending and reducing the salaries of public officials,” - he said.
