Consumer prices in July for the first time in the past year declined - deflation of 0,1%, the inflation rate back to 8.5%. However, unlike last year, the cause of deflation is not so much a decline in food prices, but the abolition of improving housing and utility tariffs in Kyiv. Without such a decision by the Government in July, prices could increase by 0.2%, say experts. According to their estimates, in August, the population may face a further rise in prices.
