With the introduction of the new order of import and sale of mobile phones the volume of imports into Ukraine has increased almost 5 times. This was reported in the press service of the State enterprise Ukrainian State Center of Radio Frequencies (UCRF).
According to the report, according to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, who arrived in UCRF, during May-September 2009 the legal importation of mobile phones in Ukraine, compared to the same period last year, increased from 360 thousand to 1 million 600 thousand phones, or almost 5 times.
According to the decisions of the NCRC 05.02.2009 № 1338 On Approval of the granting of permits to import from abroad to Ukraine electronic means and emitting devices and № 1339 On approval of the implementation in Ukraine of radio-electronic means, and emitting devices, IMEI codes of mobile phones, which are imported and sold in Ukraine must be enrolled in a generalized database UCRF.
However, as reported in UCRF, center for the 9 months of this year executed authorization for the import of over 2.5 million mobile terminals, that virtually meet the volume of their implementation over the same period.

From March 28, 2009 are not permitted the importation and sale in Ukraine mobile terminals /phones without individual registration code (serial number) IMEI in a generalized database. Such a generalized database is UCRF within the accounting information system of mobile terminals.
