Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko praised the achievement of agriculture in recent years. He made this statement at the opening of the XXI International Exhibition-Fair AGRO-2009.
I appreciate the fact that achieved in recent years. In spite of everything, all, more positive than negative, - noted the President.
He stressed that over the last months agriculture of Ukraine demonstrates growth, helped by external conditions and domestic markets. We are going to optimize the agricultural market. It is becoming more organized and open, - Yushchenko said.
He noted that in 2008, APC has become the industry leader in attracting foreign investment, ahead of such industries asmachine building and others. The President stressed that agriculture must be a number of changes, in particular the need to work on the formation of market relations, an open land market, etc. Public policies, Yushchenko said, should seek to develop foreign trade. According to him, Ukraine should be standing in world markets.
We need to stimulate exports. Ukraine should occupy a portion of the external market, - President said, adding that the state should not commit wrong acts that would question the reliability of Ukraine as a partner in foreign markets.
Our products, our grain - this is the Ukrainian oil, - said Yushchenko, adding that Ukraine needed to show that one of the unique agricultural economy (Ukrainian) comes from the tribes. He noted that there should be no internal reasons for imposing an embargo on foreign trade of Ukrainian agricultural products.
According to the President, in the past year has been unreasonably denied the export of Ukrainian grain and sunflower oil. This is not the market, this administration - said Yushchenko. He stressed that one of the priorities of Ukraine's state policy must be the formation of a zone of Ukrainian market of products in the world market.
